Founded in 1987 with just six rescued pandas, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is China’s flagship giant panda breeding and research institution. It’s now one of the world’s most successful conservation centers dedicated to giant pandas, red pandas, and other endangered species.

How to Get to Chengdu Panda Base

Take Chengdu Metro Line 3 to Panda Avenue Station (熊猫大道站), then continue by shuttle bus or a short taxi ride to the panda base entrance. Best for budget travelers.
