1-Day Chengdu Panda & Sanxingdui Discovery Tour

07:30–08:00 | Hotel Pick-up

Your guide will meet you at your hotel in Chengdu. We start early to make the most of the morning, when giant pandas are at their most active.

08:00-9:00 | Transfer to Panda Base

During the drive, your guide will introduce Chengdu’s unique culture and share insights into panda conservation in China.

09:00–11:00 | Chengdu Panda Base

Spend the morning exploring Chengdu’s most famous attraction. We carefully plan the route to avoid crowds and maximize opportunities to see pandas eating, playing, and climbing.

Highlights include:

• Giant Panda Villas
• Red Panda Area
• Panda Nursery (seasonal)
• Swan Lake and Bamboo Gardens
• Panda Conservation Exhibition Hall

As we walk through the base, you’ll learn about China’s decades-long efforts to protect giant pandas and the success of modern conservation programs. This is also the best time of day for photography, as pandas are typically feeding before their afternoon rest.

11:00–12:00 | Local Lunch

Enjoy lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant. You can try authentic Sichuan dishes or choose milder options according to your preferences.

12:00–13:00 | Drive to Sanxingdui Museum

After lunch, we travel to Guanghan, home to one of China’s greatest archaeological discoveries. Along the way, your guide will introduce the mysterious ancient Shu Kingdom and the fascinating story behind the Sanxingdui civilization.

13:00–16:30 | Explore Sanxingdui Museum

In the afternoon, we dive into a completely different side of Sichuan. Its ancient history. Sanxingdui reveals a sophisticated civilization that flourished over 3,000 years ago and remained hidden until its discovery in the 20th century.

As you explore the museum, you’ll discover artifacts unlike anything found elsewhere in China, offering a glimpse into a lost civilization that continues to puzzle archaeologists today.

16:30–17:30 | Return to Chengdu

After the museum visit, we return to Chengdu. This is a good opportunity to relax and reflect on a day that combines two of Sichuan’s greatest treasures: its beloved giant pandas and its mysterious ancient civilization.

17:30–18:00 | Hotel Drop-off

Arrive back at your hotel in Chengdu, completing an enriching day filled with wildlife, culture, and history.
