From $4,290 p.p

Overview

Southwest China’s Scenic Highlights with a Yangtze River Cruise

Best For: First-time visitors and travelers who prefer a private, varied experience rather than staying in one region.

If you want to see more than one side of China in two weeks, this route brings together some of Southwest China’s most memorable landscapes in one journey.

You’ll start in lively Chengdu, head into the mountains of Emei and Jiuzhaigou, then slow down on a Yangtze River cruise through the Three Gorges before reaching Zhangjiajie. We’ve mixed fast trains, private drives and the cruise so the journey itself becomes part of the experience. There’s plenty of scenery, but also time for local food, city life and a few quieter moments along the way.

Route Designer Notes

Team
Jack Chen

When guests ask us for the highlights of Southwest China, Jiuzhaigou, Zhangjiajie and the Yangtze River are usually the hardest places to leave out, especially on a first visit. So we tried to fit all three into two weeks without making the trip feel rushed. Using HSR and the river cruise for the longer connections gives the journey a nice mix of fast and slow, with plenty of variety along the way.
